    The composition of this painting is stunningly balanced, which commands from me serenity. The beautiful protective embrace by the yeilded Mary of her strong yet submitted son is so very tender. There is such sorrow in her eyes and yet there is also a sure hope emmited in her gaze. I love it!

    I love this image.  It is incredibly powerful, but simultaneously touching and tender. The glowing golden skin emits holiness, like the light of God which shines on mankind.  The intersecting halos reinforce the strong mother/son relationship.
